My Story

Mary is a senior DNP student at Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI and works as an RN on the inpatient unit of a rural critical access hospital. She also utilizes her BA in Spanish language, is a four-time Daisy Award nominee, a member of Sigma Honors Nursing, and has spoken and presented at various research events including the Wisconsin Rural Healthcare Conference.

Now rediscovering the creative side of her brain, Mary has been writing for both for stage and screen and has been credited on Mana: The Wafer King and Running with Scissors. She has also written a picture book to advocate for nurse practitioners’ ability to prescribe diabetic footwear. She frequently eases her mind from hospital work by choreographing her own Zumba routines for her local class.

In her free time, Mary enjoys spending time with her husband, 4-year-old son, and menagerie of pets. She spends any remaining free time riding her motorcycle, working side jobs at renaissance fairs, and watching cartoons.
