Gerald “Jerry” Fushianes is an accomplished actor, writer, director and producer known for his work on projects such as “Running with Scissors”, “The Wafer King”, and "Camp No Phone". He has a diverse background, having served as a Physician Assistant and contributing significantly to the Post Deployment Health Re-Assessment (PDHRA) program for the Department of Defense. Jerry’s passion for storytelling and community theater has led him to take on leadership roles, including President of the Area Community Theatre in Tomah, Wisconsin1. My Story
Gerald “Jerry” Fushianes is a multifaceted individual whose career spans the fields of healthcare, theater, and film. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Jerry developed a passion for storytelling and community service early in life, and was involved in community theater for a number of years before attending the University of Detroit Mercy, earning a Bachelor of Science in Health Service Administration followed by a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Finally achieving his terminal degree by earning a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree from Lynchburg University.
Jerry’s dedication to rural healthcare was recognized with the Rural Wisconsin Ambassador Award in 2014. He also received the PAragon Award for National Public Education from the AAPA in 1998 and the AAPA Bristol-Myers Squibb Scholarship in 1995.
In addition to his medical career, Jerry has always been deeply involved in the arts. His love for theater led him to take on various roles in community productions, eventually becoming the President of the Area Community Theatre in Tomah. Under his leadership, the theater has flourished, offering a diverse range of performances and fostering a vibrant arts community.
Jerry’s talents extend to the world of film, where he has made a name for himself as an actor, writer, and producer.
